Francesco Pio Ricci 

Choreographic Assistant 

Francesco Pio Ricci, born in Italy, trained at the Accademia Teatro alla Scala in Milan. After his graduation in 2007, he joined the Teatro alla Scala as company member where he performed solo roles in works from Maurice Bejart, William Forsythe, Jiri Kylian, Roland Petit and John Neumeier.

He joined the Dresden Semperoper Ballett in 2011 and in 2018 was promoted First Soloist.

There he performs a various and extensive repertoire including works from Semperoper ballett director Aaron Watkin, George Balanchine, Kenneth Macmillan, Stijn Celis, Johan Inger, Ohad Naharin and he danced in world premiere works by Alexei Ratmansky, David Dawson, Pontus Lidberg, Alexander Ekman, Hofesh Shechter and Joseph Hernandez. He also worked for Joseph Hernandez as choreographic assistant for Songs for a Siren, created in 2018 for Semperoper Ballet.
